Volunteer In-Person
Now more than ever the Twin Cities need community members to come together to enact sustainable change, for the flourishing of all life.
Explore the virtual and in-person, group opportunities that we have organized for both individuals and teams.
MGO Onsite
We welcome volunteers to join us onsite at the HQ cafeteria to help assemble a special project for our food security partners. Join us in reaching our goal of creating 400 "Spice Kits". It is crucial that our neighbors facing hunger have access to foods, flavors, and spices that are familiar and important to their cultures!
In addition to creating these kits, our team will go the extra mile by creating "well-wished" cards that will go directly to each recipient. With this project, we will not only be alleviating costs for families supported by our partners, but adding additional sentimental value to these staples in a time of need.

The Good Acre
The Good Acre has invited the General Mills team to aide in a variety of tasks. Volunteers will assist in food packing for their Community Support Agriculture (CSA) program, and help in cleaning up their onsite garden. If weather permits, we may also be asked to help plant garlic.

Second Harvest Heartland
At their Brooklyn Park Facility, volunteers assist with sorting, labeling, weighing, and packing various food items to meet immediate needs and help feed our hungry neighbors! The projects vary from day to day and volunteers regularly work with fresh produce, dry goods, bread, and various donations. This volunteer position requires volunteers are able to twist and bend down, stand for the duration of their shift, and lift up to 5 pounds. Some positions require the ability to lift 40 pounds.
If you're interested in this opportunity, please sign up for this opportunity by 9/25/24. After this date, our reserved group shifts will be released to the general public to ensure they can fulfill their volunteer needs.
